The opportunities for e-health development in countries with transforming economies will be special focus of the Conference. The event is held within the activities of the PRO-ACCESS initiative aiming the transfer of modern concepts in health telematics to Newly Associated States. Modern e-health technologies will be presented. Non-technical aspects of e-health applications as well as related areas will be also addressed. Research topics: - Distant education and training in medicine - Inter- and intradisciplinary teleconsultations - PACS - Teleradiology - Bioinformatics - Electronic Healthcare Record - Best practices and case-studies in e-health - Specific medical telematic applications - Regional and national e-health development plans - Standardisation in health telematics - E-health strategies - Security and privacy in e-health - Formal and legal aspects of e-health - Transmission, compression and archiving of medical data - Electronic platforms for medical research - Videoconferencing techniques - Mobile systems - Access technologies - Decision support systems - Emerging telemedical technologies - Electronic communication between patient and physician - Remote patient monitoring - Home telecare - IT in avoiding medical errors - Hospital information systems - Health-related Internet portals - 3D visualisation in medicine The focused workshop entitled "e-Health Business Opportunities in NAS" will be held during the Conference.
