Welcome to EuroScience Open Forum E-mail News!This is the first E-mail News from EuroScience Open Forum 2004(ESOF2004) - a major interdisciplinary meeting on science that will take place from 25 ? 28 August 2004, in the heart of Stockholm. The forum will attract participants from the whole of Europe, and is the first of its kind. It will provide a unique insight into European science and a forum for open dialogue in science and its role in shaping a society based on knowledge. Scientists from the whole of Europe have taken the initiative to create ESOF2004. Highlighting Science, Technology, and Innovation in Europe. Highlighting Science, Technology, and Innovation in Europe The main aims of the ESOF2004 are to: "Europe needs independent arenas for an open dialogue on the role of all sciences, including humanities, in society.?" Professor Jean-Patrick Connerade, Imperial College, London and President of EuroScience Take part in the event ? submit a proposal! We are inviting individuals and organisations to submit proposals for the ESOF2004 programme. A Programme Committee has selected a list of themes from which you may draw inspiration. Instructions on how to submit proposals are given on the ESOF2004 web site, together with a form for on-line submission. The final date for submitting proposals is 15 September 2003. The proposals will be judged in a review process during the autumn, and the ESOF2004 Programme Committee will select successful candidates. It is our intention to create an inspiring and exciting programme that will attract a wide audience to the open forum! Welcome to a Briefing Day, 20 May, in Stockholm We would like to invite you to an ESOF2004 Briefing Day, at Norra Latin, in Stockholm. The briefing will take place on 20 May 2003, between 9.00 AM and 3.00 PM. The programme for the Briefing Day will be published in early May on the ESOF2004 web site www.esof2004.org .
